Region 4

Region 4, IPA New Zealand section, includes as far east as the Wairarapa and north to the Kapiti Coast. The area is home to Police National Headquarters, the Royal New Zealand Police College and is central base to many specialist Police Services including Interpol, Protection Services, National Dive Squad, Special Tactics Group and many others.

The Region is strategically placed in the centre of New Zealand and hosts a number of overseas visitors travelling between the two islands.

Region 4 currently has about 162 active members, which includes both operational and retired members, we also hosts regular IPA National Executive meetings and socially the highlight of the year is the annual Christmas Social.

Region 4 supports members applying for the many opportunities IPA have to offer including The Arthur Troop Scholarship, International Youth Gathering and Serving Officer events.

Membership applications are welcomed and encouraged to ensure IPA continues to grow.

Merry Christmas from your Region 4 Committee

Region 4 have had a very active year with regular committee meeting and many new members joining IPA, we are very pleased to welcome them to an organisation of friendship with around 400,000 members.

We have seen many visitors to the Region including French, German, Swiss, UK and Ireland and a number of these visitors enjoyed Region 4 hospitality at some of our local venues and were very thankful of the hospitality shown to them.

While many Region 4 members will be travelling over Christmas and the New Year those around may wish to join us for a low key casual get together at Trax Bar Platform 1 Wellington Railway Station, Pipitea, Wellington from 5:00pm on Thursday 28th December to welcome some overseas IPA members including IPA Welsh Secretary Denis Hunt.

Applications are now open for the 2019 Arthur Troop Scholarship, this will close 31st July 2018.  Successful applicants can receive up to 2500 Euro towards scholarships.  See the website for a report from recent ATS Hamish Keer Keer Region 5.

Members can receive discounts at various locations including Snowplanet Auckland with entry to IPA members costing only $20.

IPA New Zealand is seeking nominations from each of the 6 Regions to attend the IPA NZ Future Leaders Course in Auckland set down for 4-7 May 2018, this course looks fantastic and is aimed at serving members aged 18-35 years keen on future development.  See the website and submit nominations to your Region 4 Committee.

International IPA visitors to Region 4

Over the coming months Region 4 will see many IPA visitors to our Region.  These visitors will arrive from the UK, Germany, USA, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, South Africa and other locations.  Often these members both serving and retired just want to say Hi to local members.  Look out for information and opportunities to welcome them to the Coolest Little Capital.
