About IPA

The International Police Association (IPA) is a Friendship Organisation offering learning, travel and leisure benefits for serving and retired Police personnel. It is the largest international Police organisation of its kind in the world, with nearly 420,000 members in over 66 countries.

The New Zealand Section of the IPA was founded in May 1966 and admitted as the 40th section in September 1966. It has evolved into a prominent section within the world-wide IPA family, and has a membership that continues to grow year by year.

Our Association is open to all serving and retired members of the New Zealand Police. We also welcome retired Police personnel who have settled here in NZ.

The international photo competitions of the last few years have been a  great success.  High-quality photographs were added to the IPA international archives and are available to all IPA sections. Exhibitions were produced in many sections throughout the world, and the photos are exhibited at IPA sections and police units.

We hope that the Photo Competition 2019 will also produce high-quality entries, with the participation of most of the sections and photographers.
