About IPA New Zealand

The International Police Association (IPA) is a Friendship Organisation offering learning, travel and leisure benefits for serving and retired Police personnel. It is the largest international Police organisation of its kind in the world, founded in 1950, with over 372,000 members in 68 countries on 6 continents.

The New Zealand Section of the IPA was founded in May 1966 and admitted as the 40th section in September 1966. It has evolved into a prominent section within the world-wide IPA family, and has a membership that continues to grow year by year.

Our Association is open to all serving and retired members of the New Zealand Police. We also welcome retired Police personnel who have settled here in NZ.

IPA Australia AGM-NCM, Serving Police Officers Day

IPA New Zealand Section is calling for expressions of interest from financial IPA New Zealand Section members to attend Serving Police Officer Day Australia - 13-16 October, 2022 Melbourne Victoria.  

There are two positions available, those interested in attending should forward an Expression of Interest (EOI) along with a brief CV to reach Secretary General Darrell Strick no later than 31st May, 2022, [email protected]

Successful members will be notified after this date following panel selection.

AWARD CATEGORIES: Open Category

INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2022

Organised by the Socio-Cultural Commission of the IPA

a) Any photographic subject or topic.

Subject Category

b) Police at work.

A prize of 400 Euros will be awarded to the overall winner.

300 Euros will be awarded to the winner of each category, with second and third places also receiving awards of 200 and 100 Euros respectively. 6 further photos will receive a merit award.

e. Arthur Troop Scholarships are awarded annually and preferably at least one will be granted to each continent in which we have member sections – Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Australasia and Europe.

Each scholarship consists of a bursary of up to 2500€, to be used for a seminar at the International Conference Centre, IBZ Schloss, Gimborn, or at a comparable institution.

Applicants must have been an IPA member for at least 3 years service and must currently ....

6th Young Police Officers (YPO) Seminar, Sri-Lanka

IPA Sri Lanka hereby wish to invite nominations from all Member Sections to send nominations for the 6th Young Police Officers (YPO) Seminar, which is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from 1st to 6th September 2022.

In this Global Epidemic situation, we are seeking best support from our Member Sections to send their maximum eligible members to attend this seminar, with a view to making this event a success.

We would appreciate if all Member Sections notify their Secretry General regarding the Seminar as we have a very limited period to organize this event.

  • Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka
  • Theme: Countering Modern Terrorism
  • Accommodation- At Five Star Hotel with all meals
  • Full Day Excursion is also included to the program
